Tread Lightly on the Planet

The final part of the JMW Turner inspired trilogy Tread Lightly on the Planet found new ways to connect during Covid. The piece is a cry of pain, ending on hope about the state of the climate, with newly composed music by Peter Coyte, which includes a quote from historian David Olusoga.

Inspired by some of JMW Turner’s industrial paintings including Keelmen Heaving in Coals by Moonlight, and completing the trilogy (1, 2, 3), it is highly theatrical, with stunning costumes from long time collaborator Kate Collins. Passion for the environment and equality is clear throughout. This work is available to book for outdoor and indoor spaces.
